Paperless! That's the new found mantle in the court reporting industry. Yes I will admit the cost of paper does add up and a place to store your notes can be a problem. But....
I would argue that having that backup of reporter notes is important. I recently had a conversation with a Reporter who took a job with one of those newer paperless machines and lost her notes. How someone can loose their notes and their backup s, I have no idea but it can happen. In this case the Reporter was out the cost of the deposition including both attorneys for hours. Ouch!
So before you decide to get rid of paper look at the potential downside and choose accordingly.
